At a very young age, I fell in love with cars and since being able to drive, it has become an obsession. I’ve owned everything from a 1953 Ford Mainline to a modified S13 Nissan 240sx. Currently, I’m restoring a 1969 Lotus Elan +2.
I travelled a fair amount growing up and in 2008, my wife Karlie and I started making a serious effort to see the world. Naturally, I started gravitating to destinations with deep rooted car culture – Germany’s Nürburgring, Italy’s supercar region near Maranello and the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
I started TravelDriveRace to be the travel guide for car lovers and to fuse my (expensive) hobbies of cars and travelling. Conventional guide books and travel sites are great for the average traveller, but not for the gearhead, pistonhead or car guy. There are great car museums that never get written about, breathtaking drives that are never shared and racing experiences that the majority of travellers just don’t know about.
The goal of this blog is to have the most up-to-date information on all of the world’s travel destinations for automotive enthusiasts. And I need your help. As much as I’d love to, I can’t make it to every car-related destination in the world and I can’t negotiate the hairpins of every great drive. I need your feedback, ideas and content, so we can grow to be the definitive source for this information! Check out the guest blogs of those who have helped me along the way and don’t be afraid to contact me!
